Privacy policy

Computer Multiverse (computermultiverse.com) is operated by A.I.T. Multiverse Consulting Ltd, Nicosia, Cyprus ("we"). We are the data controller for the processing described here. This policy explains what data the site uses and why.

What we do not collect

There are no accounts, logins or sign-ups. We do not ask for your name to play and we do not sell personal data.

Data stored in your browser

Your game progress, streaks, statistics and theme choice are saved in your browser's local storage on your device. They never leave your device unless you share a result yourself. You can delete them at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.

Anonymous daily totals

When you finish a daily game or vote, your browser sends the result (for example "solved in 4 guesses" or "voted for side A") to our server so we can show everyone's totals. To stop the same person being counted twice, the server stores a one-way hash of a random player ID created by your browser and a one-way hash of your IP address (used only to limit abuse), which cannot be turned back into your IP address, and deletes them after 3 days. For votes, we also store the country your request came from, as provided by our hosting provider, to show results by country. We store only totals, never a list of individual players.

Contact form

If you write to us, we store your message, the name and email you give us and your country, only to answer you. We delete messages when they are no longer needed. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you.

Hosting and security

The site runs on Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland are asked for consent through Google's consent message before personalised advertising is used, and you can change your choice at any time from the privacy link in that message. Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for access to, correction or deletion of personal data we hold about you, object to processing, and complain to a supervisory authority. In Cyprus this is the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection. Contact us through the contact page.

Children

The site is a general-audience games site and is not directed at children under 13.
